Hamrick of Macon died Friday, September 1, 2000. She was retired from JC Penney, former manager of the catalog department. The widow of W.H. Hamrick, she was a member of Porterfield Baptist Church. She participated in Western Little League and was first president of the Western Little League Auxiliary. Survivors include her children, Bill Hamrick and Kenneth Hamrick, both of Musella, the Rev. D. Joey Hamrick of Macon, Richard Hamrick of Elko, and Steven Hamrick of Yatesville; brothers and sisters, Bill Johnson, O.P. Johnson, Dot Cambell, and Virginia Cambell, all of Arab, Alabama, Mary Davidson of Baltimore, Maryland, and Lorene Lovorn of Macon; 23 grandchildren; 26 great- grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Services were held Monday, September4, 2000 in Crest Lawn Funeral Home with burial in Macon Memorial Park. Crest Lawn Funeral Home had charge of arrangements. Mary Lizzie Solomon, of Fort Valley died Tuesday, August 28, 2000. She was manager and seamstress at Solomon's Neighborhood Cleaners. She was a member of Ross Chapel AME Church, where she served on the stewardess board, and was a member of UB&A Lodge. Survivors include her brother, Waymon Gray of Colorado Springs, Colorado; stepson, Wayne McMichael of Fort Valley; and two grandchildren. Services were held Sunday, September 3, 2000 in Ross Chapel AME Church, Crawford County, with burial in the church cemetery. C.J. Edwards Funeral Home had charge of arrangements. Mary Julia Allen, 67, of Butler died Wednesday, August 30, 2000 in a Thomaston hospital. She was born in Taylor County, daughter of the late James Otha Hobbs and Clara Luana Hobbs, and was a lifelong resident. She was retired from Wilson's Mini Mart. She was a member of Lebanon Baptist Church. Survivors include her children, Shirley Randall of Butler, Donald Allen of Thomaston, Ronald Allen of Roberta, and James Allen of Lizella; brothers and sisters, Walter Hobbs of Columbus, Jack Hobbs of Phenix City, Alabama, Frank Hobbs and Sonny Hobbs, both of Butler, Herman Hobbs of Eatonton, Margie Boyt of Thomaston, Joy Corley of York, South Carolina, and Theresa Waddell of Woodbury; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild. Services were held Saturday, September 2, 2000 in Lebanon Baptist Church with burial in Bethel Cemetery in Butler. Tante Funeral Home in Buene Vista had charge of arrangements.
