Crawford County Man Drowned

Mr. C.T. Cheves was drowned at Clark’s pond at Gaillard, Saturday afternoon.  
In company with Mr. Fayette Sandefur, he was in a boat fishing when the boat in 
some way overturned, throwing both men into the water.  Sandefur assisted 
Cheves to a stump in the pond and ran for assistance, but on returning found 
Cheves, head below the water and life about extinct.  The funeral was held 
Sunday near Zenith.
