Pearson Ft. Valley, Nov. 1--Oscar Eugene Pearson, 70, died here today after a short illness. He was a native of Crawford County, moving here many years ago. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Mondya at the Ft. Valley Baptist Church with the Rev. Norman Hodges, Dr. Aquila Chamblee, and the Rev. R. L. Harvey officiating. Burial will be in the Oaklawn Cemetery here. He is survived by his wife, the former Miss Sara Ella McDuffie; two daughters, Mrs. J. T. Edwards and Mrs. J. R. Thompson, both of Ft. Valley; three sons, Oscar Jr., James and Veltrie, all of Ft. Valley; five brothers, W. T., J. W., W. E., J. D. and Clyde, all of Ft. Valley. He was a member of the Ft. Vallye Baptist Church and owner of the Pearson Basket Mills at Ft. Valley.
