Born in Crawford County, he was a retired civil service employee for Robins Air Force Base. He was a member of Roberta United Methodist Church and the Crusaders Sunday School Class. He was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 689, the Woodmen of the World and the Georgia CCC Alumni. He was a former medical technician for Crawford County. He was a member of the board of directors of Department of Family and Children’s Services in Crawford County and a Navy veteran of World War II. Survivors: wife, Florine Schearer Spillers of Musella, children, Stanley P. Spillers of Musella and Sheree Spillers Applebury of Milledgeville; brothers and sister, Paul Spillers and Terry Spillers, both of Musella, James Spillers of Roberta, Wilbur Spillers of Fort Valley, and Lucille Skinner of Dublin; and three grandchildren. Services: 11 a.m. Thursday in the Roberta United Methodist Church. Burial: Roberta City Cemetery with Masonic rites. The Revs. Owen B. Williams and Eric Sizemore will officiate. Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 in Goddard Funeral Home in Roberta.
