Dent Ordinary Court Minutes, Book A, pp. 20-21 1880 Georgia, Crawford County John W. Dent having lately departed this life in said county intestate leaving a large estate and the following heirs all of whom are of age to wit: Jane Dent his widow, William J. Dent, Wesley H. Dent, Sidney W. Dent, Edgar E. Dent, Josie C. Vanvalkenburgh, wife of Charles W. Van Valkenburgh and Elizabeth C. Harrison wife of Jno. L. Harrison, his children & having several years prior to his death taken a Homestead of Realty & Exemption of Personalty - which did not cover his entire property and William J. Dent having duly & legally taken out letters of administration upon said estate is hereby made & entered into by the heirs to the same as aforesaid viz: Mrs. Jane Dent widow of said John W. Dent as aforesaid agrees & does hereby waive & severance all her rights to the & interest under & to the said Homestead & agrees for the same to be cover ……..and to the administration as such by the administrator aforesaid. She hereby agrees to take a dower out of lands of said Jno. W. Dent deceased & to take a years support as may be set apart to her by the commpensors heretofore appointed by the Ordinary of land under & by virtue of the application made to him for the same and in consideration of said Dower & years support she hereby relinquishes all & any further right title & interest in said Estate or claim upon the same or any part thereof whatever: William J. Dent, Wesley H. Dent, Sidney W. Dent, Edgar E. Dent, Charles W. VanValkenburgh & his wife Josie C. Vanvalkenburgh, John L. Harrison & his wife Elizabeth C. Harrison agree to relinquish any and all right title and interest that they or either of them may have ?eware or to said Homestead & agree for the said Mrs. Jane Dent shall have said dower & years support as therefore mentioned (reserving unto themselves the right of if the same or either of them be excessive or illegally set apart) upon the terms & upon the conditions heretofore agreed to & mentioned by said Jane Dent in her part of this Estate (except the part vesting absolutely in said Jane Dent) be equally divided between themselves the legal heirs & children of the said John W. Dent to wit: William J. Dent, Wesley H. Dent, Sidney W. Dent, Edgar E. Dent, Josie C. Vanvalkenburgh & Elizabeth C. Harrison Each & every of said heirs fully & completely accounting for any money or property or advancement received by them from the said John W. Dent during his lifetime upon the settlement of said Estate. In Testimony whereof the said parties have herein to set their hands & affixed their seals.
