Item 1st It is my will and desire that all my just debts be paid (if any) without delay by my Executors herein after named and appointed. Item 2nd It is my will and desire that my body be buried in a decent and Christianlike manner suitable to my circumstances and condition in life. Item 3rd It is my will that my wife Nancy Williford shall have at my death one third of all my real estate (or Dower) to take that much land whereon the houses are situated and also that I desire she shall have a child's share or part of all my stock of all kinds such as mules thoroughbred cows and hogs etc. and also at her death I desire all the property that I leave her as my will be reverted back to my living children or their descendents to be divided equally between them to share and share alike equally. Item 4th It is my will that my son William Williford, Sarah Ann Scarborough my daughter, Hines Williford Jr., Isabella Jossey my daughter, Whitfield M. Williford shall have at my death an equal share of the balance of my estate both real and personal to share and share alike equally between them all except Sarah Ann Scarborough. I hold a note against Henry Scarborough for seventy two dollars and seventy five cents with interest from November 30th 1874 which must come out of her share before the division is made. Item 5th It is my will and desire that the share of Sarah Ann Scarborough be left to her as her own separate property not subject to her husband's debts. Item 6th It is my will and desire that the daughter of my son Crawford Williford shall have five dollars of my estate to be paid her by my Executors herein after named and appointed. Item 7th I also nominate and appoint my two sons William Williford and Hines Williford Jr. my Executors to carry out the provisions of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all other wills by me heretofore made. In testimony I have hereto set my hand and seal -- This November the 16th 1878 Hines Williford Signed sealed disclosed and published by Hines Williford as his last will and testament in the presences of us the undersigned who subscribed our names hereto in the presence of said Testator at his special instance and in the presence of each other. Worshaw who being duly sworn and deposed and say they saw Hines Williford sign seal and publish and declare the hither and foregoing instrument as his last will and testament taken _____ and freely without compulsion that this time the said Testator was of sound disposing mind and memory and that they (____) signed said will as witnesses in the presence of said Hines Williford at his special instance and request and in the presence of each other. Murchison Crawford Court of Ordinary April Five 1880 Notes: Thomas Hines Williford was born between 1803 and 1807, most likely in North Carolina (acc. to 1850 Crawford Co., GA, census). He died Sept. 12, 1879. He was probably the son of Benjamin C. and Charity (Cobb) Williford, both of NC. Hines was married 1st to unknown wife abt. 1833. Two children born: Benjamin Crawford Williford (ca. 1834) and William Williford (Sept. 9, 1838-Sept. 14, 1894). He married 2nd Martha Underwood Nov. 16, 1838. To this marriage were born four children: Emily (abt. 1840), Sarah Ann (Apr. 16, 1843-Apr. 25, 1919), Hines Jr. (Feb. 25, 1846-Dec. 7, 1917), and Isabelle (Jan. 8, 1851-Jul. 6, 1889). Hines married 3rd Nancy Rickerson, dau. of Abraham Rickerson and Susannah Ogletree, on Feb. 6, 1853. In addition to two stillborn children, Hines amd Nancy had my great-grandfather, Micajah Whitfield Williford (Jul. 1, 1854-Sept. 10, 1922). Benjamin Crawford Williford married Catherine Rebecca Murray. He died bef. 1860 and Arza Murray was guardian of his orphan, Mary. (Taylor Co., GA, Administrative and Guardian's Bonds, pp. 51, 85, 369) William Williford married Dora Amason Vinson Emily Williford probably died young.
