Cordele Dispatch October 13, 1958
Harold Waldrip of Pine Meadow Drive suffered a broken leg and arm and facial 
lacerations Sunday when he was hit by a car,at the Stock car race at Veterans 
Memorial State Park.  A stock car driver himself Waldrip was involved in a 
Three car crash and had gotten out of his car when hit by the other vehicle it 
was reported.   It was reported that Waldrip was leaving the track when he saw 
that one car in the pile up had caught fire. He was going back to help the 
other driver C.W. Bailey from the blazing car. When another racer rounded the 
track and hit him. Waldrip is in the Crisp County Hospital and listed in good 
condition.  Bailey suffered facial lacerations.

Additional Comments:
Harold had gas stations since 1951.I worked for him when I was in school. He 
is retired now but is still a friend.
