J. Bundrick Dies. Prisoner 20 Years Without Seeking Pardon. Cordele, Ga., July 26- A. J. Bundrick, who served 20 years on the Georgia chaingang before applying for pardon or parole, died today at the home of Zach Bundrick, his brother, death being due to pneumonia. "Old Man Bundrick," as he was known to prison officials wherever he served in Georgia, made a model prisoner, following his conviction of murder in Dooly county many years ago, and following his release from prison two years ago, led an exemplary life. He was one of the most remarkable men ever incarcerated in a Georgia prison and during all of the years he remained on the gang he was a trusty, having many opportunities to escape. A parole was granted him about two years ago, and a year later Governor Hardwick granted him a pardon, at the suggestion of many prominent Americus citizens, Bundrick being on the chaingang there at the time.
