Bry Gilbert, 66,died Saturday afternoon at Adams hospital from injuries received in an automobile accident last Tuesday. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon from the Bay Spring Baptist Church, of which the deceased was a member, with the Rev. P. L. branch officiating. Interment was in the Bay Spring cemetery. Mr. Gilbert had been a resident of Crisp County during his entire life, and was engaged in farming. Music for the funeral was by the Ellis Quartet, composed of M. H. Ellis, Mrs. Jim Dorough, J. W. Newell and T. W. Wright. Songs were, "How Beautiful Heaven Must Be." "Death is Only a Dream." and "Farther Along." Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Hattie Gilbert; six daughters, Mrs. J. S. Salter, Mrs. W. J. Faircloth, both of Cordele; Mrs. C. A. Faircloth, of Cochran; Mrs. Boy Pate, of Ashburn; Mrs. J. R. Sapp, of Hazelhurst; Mrs. Melvin Bowen, of Vienna: Two sons, R. L. Gilbert and Willie Gilbert both of Cordele: Two sisters, Mrs. Nettie Crooms, of Atlanta; and Mrs. Maggie Boinest, of Macon: Several grandchildren and gret-grandchildren also survive. Pall bearers were Cleveland Pate, Cordie Johnson, Melvin Brown, Seabron Hill, John Salter, and Edward Faircloth. Harrison Funeral Home in charge.
