CLERK DIES IN BARNESVILLE. Barnesville, Ga., April 15- J. A. Littlejohn, of Cordele, clerk of the superior court of Crisp county since the county was organized, died here early today at the home of his sister-in- law, Mrs. C. H. Morris, after a brief illness, having come to this city recently with the hope of improving his health which failed about a year ago. The funeral and burial will take place tomorrow afternoon, the service to be conducted by the pastor, Rev. Frank Quillian. Mr. Littlejohn was 66 years old. He formerly lived here, but years ago moved to Dooly county. When Crisp county was formed he was made clerk of the superior court of the new county and had held the office ever since. He was a brother of Judge Z. A. Littlejohn. Mr. Littlejohn is survived by his widow, one daughter, Mrs. W. A. Morris, of Cordele, and one son, Jesse Littlejohn, who has just returned from service in France. Cordele Mourns Death. Cordele, Ga., April 15- Joseph A. Littlejohn, clerk of the superior court of Crisp county, who died this morning in Barnesville, where he went two weeks ago, had suffered for several years from a trouble which in his last years became more apparent. Only a short time ago he suffered a stroke of paralysis, from which he never fully recovered. Mr. Littlejohn came to Cordele when the town was a village. He was first a clerk in a business establishment, then city clerk for a brief period and when the new county of Crisp was organized, he became clerk of superior court. He held this place continuously till his death. Mrs. Littlejohn, with two children, Jesse and Mrs. W. A. Morris, survive him. One brother, Judge Z. A. Littlejohn, of the southwestern circuit superior court, who resides in Americus, survives and four sisters. His sisters are Mrs. John W. Walters, of Cordele; Mrs. Turner Hughes, of Statesboro; Mrs. Hardin Sapp, of Columbus, and Mrs. Robert Wynne, of Eastman. The funeral will occur in Barnesville tomorrow afternoon. Rev. T. B. Stanford will attend from here along with a number of close friends of the family.
