B. Pound. Prominent Citizen of Cordele Died in Washington, D. C. Cordele, Ga., August 4- B. B. Pound, one of Cordele's wealthiest and most prominent citizens, died at 4:20 o'clock this morning in Washington, D. C., after an operation for appendicitis. Mr. Pound, wife and daughter and a party of friends left Cordele three weeks ago for a pleasure trip to the Jamestown exposition, New York, Canada and other points of interest. While in Washington he fell ill and was taken to a hospital where he died. The deceased is survived by his wife and daughter, Miss Marylee, who were with him. Besides these he leaves several brothers and sisters. Mr. Pound was born in Dooly county, 48 years ago, and had been a resident of Cordele 17 years. His untimely death has cast a pall of gloom over the entire city. The funeral party will reach Cordele Monday night, and the interment will take place Tuesday.
