                     Sam M. Roobin
   Funeral services for Sam M. Roobin, age 79, of Cordele,will be held 2 p.m. 
Tuesday, Jan,23, 1996, in the Chapel of Hughes & Wright Funeral Home with 
interment in Sunnyside Cemetery. Mr. Roobin died Saturday, Jan. 20, 1996, in 
an Atlanta Hospital.
   Mr. Roobin had attended G.M.C. and the University of Alabama.  He was a 
Past President of the Cordele Lions Club, a member of the Crisp County Board 
of Education for 18 years, and the public address announcer for the Cordele 
Bulldogs, Rebels and Crisp County Cougar Football teams for 39 years.  Mr. 
Roobin was Past Exhalted Ruler of the Elks Lodge, member and Past President of 
the Pinehills Country Club, past member of the Cordele-Crisp Chamber of 
Commerce, and one of the founders of the Cordele Little League Baseball.
   Survivors include two sons, David Roobin and Mike Roobin both of Cordele; a 
daughter-in-law, Sheryl B. Roobin of Cordele; two brothers, Jake Roobin of 
Cordele and Avrom Roobin of Macon; two sisters, Lena Minkoff of Cordele, and 
Ruby Cuslov of Pittsburg, Pa; and two grandchildren, Brandon and Brigett 
Roobin, both of Cordele.
   Hughes & Wright Funeral Home, Inc. has charge of arrangements.
