Cordele  - The trial of J. Hilary Day for the killing of J.B. Scott on the 
latter’s plantation in the eastern portion of Crisp County, about two months 
ago, was concluded when the jury returned a verdict of voluntary 
manslaughter.  Judge U.V. Whipple passed sentence upon Day, giving him eight 
years.
