SMITH DIES AT PENIA Daniel J. Smith, 59, who died at his home in the Penia community, Saturday night, was buried Sunday afternoon at Cedar Creek church cemetery. Funeral rites were conducted by Elder M. A. Hall on Sunday afternoon from the Cedar Creek church, which the deceased was a member. Two special songs were led by P. H. Hardin, "A Few More Days on Earth to Spend," and "I'm Born to Die." Surviving are the deceased's wife, Mrs. Daniel J. Watson Smith, three sons, Carl and Jack Smith of Cordele and Olan Smith of Norfolk, Va. Mr. Smith was born in Crisp county in 1881, was engaged most of his life in farming.He had been in declining health for several years. Interment was in Cedar Creek church cemetery. Pall bearers were J. R. Clark, C. G. Farrow, R. R. Farrow, C. T. Sanders, A. J. Bridges, and Talmadge Newsome. Dekle Funeral Home in charge.
