The Groom is prominent, progressive and popular; a a resident of Cordele since it was chartered as a city, and for the past two years the talented editor of the Cordele Daily News. The Church was never more beautifully decorated than upon this occasion, under the direction of Mrs. P.M. Berg, Miss Marie Montford and Mrs. J. W. Bivins, assisted by other ladies. Just preceding the ceremony Mr. Robert E. Harris sang "Oh, Promise Thee," his sister Miss Essie, playing the accompaniment. Mrs. T. E. Jennings presided at he organ in rendering the march accompanied by Mrs. J. B. Pate on the violin and Mr. Bonta on the clarinet. The bride came in upon the arm of her brother, Mr. L. J. Bush, while Mr. Robert L. McKenzie was best man to his brother, the groom. The ushers were Col. W. W. Dykes, of Americus, Mr. Lofton Hyman of Macon, Prof. C. B. Smith and Mr. B. H. Palmer, of Cordele. Little Vivan and Inez daughters of the bride, preceded and untied the ribbons to the martial altar. The couple stood beneath an exquisite bell formed of bride roses and ferns, with a silver clapper, made by Mrs. Bivins. After the marriage Mr. and Mrs. McKenzie left on the north bound G. S. F. train for a several weeks trip to California, Pike's Peak, Yellowstone Park and other points of interest in the great west and northwest. Many and beautiful were the presents given by numerous relatives and friends of this couple, which bespeaks their popularity. The SENTINEL wishes to join the great throng of friends in extending hearty congratulations and very best wishes for a long and prosperous wedded life of this happy couple, a pleasant bridal tour and a safe return to Cordele, their future home.
