Lankford to John Miller State of Georgia Decalb (sic) County, This indenture made ninth day of January eighteen hundred and fifty between Curtis C. Lankford guardian for Robert S. (or ‘T”) Lankford of the county and state aforesaid of the one part and John Miller of the county and state aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth (?) that the said Curtis C. Lankford guardian as aforesaid for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred dollars to him in hand paid at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is herby acknowledged doth grant, sell and convey unto the said John Miller his heirs and assigns all the tract on parcel of land situated lying and being in the county of Dade and State of Georgia in the eleventh (11th) district and fourth (4) section and known and distinguished in the plans of said district as sections as Lot three hundred and twenty four (324) containing one hundred and fifty acres more or less. To have and to hold said tract or parcel of land unto him the said John Miller his heirs and assigns together with all singular the rights members and appurtenances thereof to the same in any manner belonging to his other own proper use benefit and behalf forever in fee simple and the said Curtis C. Lankford quardian is aforesaid for himself his heirs executors and administrators the said land unto the said John Miller his heirs and assigns will warrant and defend forever the rights and titles thereof against themselves and against the claim of all other persons whatsoever. For witness whereof the said Curtis C. Lankford Guardian as aforesaid hath hereunto set his hand and affirmed his seal the day and year above written. Perkins, Jr. Clerk Additional Comments: John Miller was born in 1803 TN to James Miller SC; he married (1827 Monroe County, TN,)Nancy Mary Wilson b. 1806 TN (daughter of Joseph Wilson, a farmer and a trader) The family removed to Dade County, GA ca. 1835 to Rising Fawn.
