All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: jacqueline king Georgia Table of Contents: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ga/gafiles.htm ACTS AND RESOLUTIONS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA 1893 1893 Vol. 1 page 495 PAYMENT TO DADE COUNTY OF EXPENSE OF EXECUTING CERTAIN CONVICTS Law no. 24 WHEREAS, on the 2d day of October, 1891, Abe Wayman, a State convict, was executed, after conviction, in the county of Dade, for murder; and WHEREAS, on the 17th day of November, 1893, John Rutledge, a State convict, was executed for murder in the county of Dade; and WHEREAS, The expense of guarding, feeding, erecting gallows, etc., in the matter of two aforesaid State convicts was paid by the county of Dade, the same being a proper charge against the State; therefore, RESOLVED, That the Governor be, and he is, hereby authorized to draw his warrant upon the Treasurer of this State in favor of J. A. Cureton, Ordinary, etc., for the county of Dade, for the sum of three hundred dollars and ten cents, expense of guarding, feeding, executing, etc., the two aforesaid State convicts, which has been paid by the county of Dade.
