CLARK Feb 15, 1926 - Sept 15, 2001 Funeral services for Voncille H. Clark, 75 of Fitzgerald, were held Monday, Sept 17 at Paulk Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gerald Thomas officiating. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald. Mrs. Clark died Saturday, Sept 15, at Tift Regional Medical Center, Tifton. She was a native of Bainbridge, and was retired from Thomas-Betts Corporation, Bainbridge. She and her late husband were former owners and operators of Clark's Grocery and Clark's Dairy in Bainbridge. She was a member of the Ocilla Baptist Church and Martha Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Clark. Survivors include one sone, C. A. "Pete" Clark of Fitzgerald; a daughter, Faye Clark Phillips of Hampton, Ga; five grand-children and six great-grand-children; a brother, Carol Edward Heard of Meadow Bridge, W. Va; and two sisters, Hazel H. Wilson of Albany and Norma H. Wacaser of Bainbridge. Paulk Funeral Home of Fitzgerald was in charge of arrangements. SAMUEL H. KIRBO Nov 26, 1936 - Sept 15, 2001 Graveside funeral services for Samuel hawes Kirbo, 64 of Mountain View, Ark., are today, Sept 19, at 2 pm in Oak City Cemetery with Minister Wesley Stedtefeld officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Dr. Gordon Miller, Sam Griffin Jr., Lee Parker, Ralph Smith, Bruce Kirbo Jr., and Bobby Turknett. Mr. Kirbo died Saturday, Sept 15, in North Little Rock, Ark. he was a native of Bainbridge and had formerly lived in Jonesboro, Ga., before moving to Mountain View in March, 2000. He was a 1954 graduate of J. C. Murphy High School in Atlanta and a graduate of John Marshall Law School. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Conflict and was a member of the First Christian Church of Morrow, Ga. Survivors include his wife, Mary "Polly" Bagley Kirbo; two sons, Joseph Harmon Kirbo II of Shalimar, Fla., and Steven William Kirbo of Washington, D.C.; a daughter, Sarah Louise Steinen of Carrollton; a sister, Margaret Kirbo Paulk of Shannon, Ga., and other relatives. Roots Dr., North Little Rock, AR 72114-1709. Ivey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. DR. J. LOUSE MACFIE June 6, 1920 - Sept 15, 2001 Funeral services for Dr. J. Louise Macfie, 81, of Bainbridge were held Monday, Sept 17, at First Presbyterian Church with the Reverends Robert Baggs, and Stephen Webb officiating. Interment was in Oak City Cemetery with Bud Holleman, Tom Sipp, Tom Conger, Carroll Bolton, Kathy Varner and Mike Barber serving as pallbearers. Dr. Macfie died Saturday, Sept. 15, in Mitchell County Hospital. She was born in Alachua County, Fla., and had lived in Bainbridge since 1921. Dr. Macfie graduated from Georgia State Woman's College (now Valdosta State University) and later received her Ph.D from Florida State University. Prior to her retirement as curriculum director with the Stephens County School District in Toccoa, she was employed for many years in the Decatur County School System under the late Dr. W. L. Lamb, superintendent. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bainbridge, the Pilot Club and YMCA. She is survived by a brother, George Burton Macfie Jr. of Oviedo, Fla. Cox Funeral Home was in charge of arranegements. GEORGIA O. M. WURST Funeral services for Georgia O'Meara Minter Wurst, 96, of Donalsonville were held at the Friendship United Methodist Church with Rev. Jerry Lott officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Mrs. Wurst died Saturday, Sept 15, at her residence. She was retired fromt eh banking industry, where she was vice president of the Commercial State Bank of Donalsonville. A member of Friendship United Methodist Church, she served as a member and treasurer of the Methodist Worker's Guild for 50 years, and as a former Chancel Choir member for 40 years. She was a charter member of the Friendship Club and a member of the Addie Brigham Sunday School Class, the Fifty Plus Club, and the Donalsonville Women's Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dallas Foster Wurst Sr. Survivors include one daughter, Gloria Wurst Priest of Tallahassee, Fla; a son, Dallas Foster (Pat) Wurst Jr. of Donalsonville; a sister, Adele Minter Schroeder of Atlanta; five grandchildren and other relatives. Memorials may be made to Friendship United Methodist Church, Hwy. 84, Donalsonville, GA 31745, or Hospice of Southwest Georgia, 1323 E. Shotwell st., Bainbridge, GA 31717. DEATH NOTICES JESSIE L.
