"Bunky" Bridges, age 57, of Brinson died Sunday, December 29, 1991. He was born in Decatur County on July 12, 1934, and was the son of the late Dr. and Mrs. R. L. Z. Bridges of Brinson. He lived most of his life in Brinson and was the manager of Clear Channel Communications in Bainbridge. Mr. Bridges served as minister of music at West Bainbridge Baptist Church for 10 years and then held the same position at Morningside Baptist Church for 13 years. At the time of his death he was serving as minister of music at Grace Church in Bainbridge of which he was a member. Mr. Bridges was also an Army veteran and a graduate of Bainbridge High School and Georgia Southwestern College in Americus where he earned a Batchelor of science degree in biology. Funeral services for Mr. Bridges were held Tuesday, December 31, at 11 A. M. at Grace Church in Bainbridge with the Rev. Bill Prince and Dr. Austin Phillips officiating. Interment was in Brinson Cemetery. Active pallbearers were James Greene, Ernie Gilstrap, E. j. "Chip" Perry, III, Don Kirksey, Dennis Walker and Jackie Hatcher. Serving as ushers were Dr. David Beauchamp, N. V. "Brad" Bradford and Dr. Bobby Lonas. Survivors include his wife, Ulatha Long Bridges, Brinson; two daughters, Selna Warren, LaGrange, and Susan Meek, Lawrenceville; two sons, Paul Bridges, Jr., Colquitt, and Sidney Bridges, Norcross; five sisters, Emily Gunter and Maydis Ferrell, both of Tallahassee, Fla., Evelyn McMillan, Dallas, Texas, Jane Plowden, Quitman, Vhonnie Stover, Keystone Heights, Fla., four brothers, Dr. Henry Bridges, Bainbridge, John Bridges and Dr. Zack Bridges, both of Brinson, Dr. Mercer Bridges, Augusta; and eight grandchildren.
