This file was contributed by: Janet Sumner GWS0675@peoplepc.com ==================================================================== The Cairo Messenger, January 24, 1975: Mrs. Ruth Brock Passes Away On January 16th, 1975 Mrs. Ruth Brock, wife of the late John Byron Brock, of Bainbridge, Ga. passed away Jan. 16, 1975 at Bainbridge Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were held Jan. 16, 1975 at the Trinity Primitive Baptist Church with Rev. Jack Clark and Rev. Richard Harkins officiating. Active pallbearers were Bill Mobley, Tommy Mobley, John Brock, James Tomlinson, Lavon Tomlinson and Wynburn Womble. Interment was in Trinity Church Cemetery. Mrs. Brock was born in Sale City, Ga. on May 22, 1904. She lived in Bainbridge for the past 1 1/2 years and was a member of the West Bainbridge Baptist Church. Survivors include 2 daughters, Mrs. Ruby Perkins of Bainbridge, Mrs. Letha Bell Golden of Thomasville; 2 sons, J. W. Brock of Cairo, Lamar Brock of Albany; 15 grandchildren and 9 great grandhildren; 6 sisters, Mrs. Rosa Lee Istenes of Fort Myers, Fla., Mrs. Annie Womble, Mrs. Nellie Mobley, both of Thomasville, Mrs. Mera Finch of Thomasville, Mrs. Veda Anderson of Fayetteville, N.Y., Mrs. Jewell Maxwell of Baton Route, La.; 2 brothers, T. M. Hancock of Birmingham, Ala., J. E. Hancock of Jacksonville, Fla. Cox Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
