Mr. J. M. Cartledge [sic, error for C. M. Cartledge; see below] died at his home on the corner of Scott and Broughton streets Sunday morning, November 29th at 11 o’clock. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. J. [sic] M. Cartledge; two brothers also survive. Funeral services and interment were held at Mt. Zion cemetery, near Quincy, Fla., on November 30, at 11 o’clock. Rev. Henley of Bainbridge officiating. J. J. Edge Funeral Home in charge. [NB: the GA Death Index says it was Charles M. Cartledge who died on this date in Decatur County, and in col. 8 of the same issue of the Post-Search Light is the following: “Card of Thanks — We wish to thank all of the many friends for the kind deeds during the illness and death of our husband and brother. ... Mrs. C. M. Cartledge, J. M. Cartledge and family, B. F.Cartledge and family, Mrs. W. M. Taylor and family.”]
