B-3, cols. 1-2. Final rites for Mr. Jack M. Cartledge Sr., 46, of Detroit, Michigan, formerly of Bainbridge, were held on Friday September 20, 1974 at 11:00 a.m. from the Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Howard Tillery and Rev. E. R. Cloud officiating. Mr. Cartledge passed away suddenly in Detroit on September 13. Survivors include two sons: Mr. Jack Cartledge, Jr., of Bainbridge and Mr. Terry Cartledge of Kissimmee, Florida; a brother, Mr. John Cartledge of Tallahassee, Florida; five sisters: Mrs. Doris Barbree of Bainbridge, Mrs. Julia Lawhon of Woodville, Florida, Mrs. Lenore Stokeley of Crawfordville, Florida, Mrs. Dot Ellis of Tallahassee and Mrs. Mary Sue Piper of Bangor, Michigan; and six grandchildren. A World War II veteran, Mr. Cartledge was employed as a mechanic. Active pallbearers were his nephews. … Ivey Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
