Chason Claimed by Death Theodore Webster Chason passed away some times during last Monday night and Tuesday morning, at his home on Evans Street. The cause of his death was attributed to heart trouble. Mr. Chason was forty years of age, and was the son of the late J. D. Chason, a pioneer of Decatur County. The deceased has been connected in years past with the distribution of automobiles in the city. He handled the Buick and other popular cars, and it was through his efforts that the building now occupied by the R. L. Rich Chevrolet Company was constructed; he being the first tenant. The deceased is survived by his wife, Mrs. Irene Chason, and five sisters, Mrs. R. F. Wheat, Mrs. W. L. Wilkerson, Mrs. W. P. Jackson, of Tampa, Fla., Mrs. V. P. Wright of Vidalia, and Mrs. H. G. Bell of this city. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at the home of Dr. and Mrs. R. F. Wheat at 10:00 o'clock with the Reverend H. H. Shell officiating being assisted by the Reverend H. Scott Smith. Active pallbearers were: Messrs. Clark Gurley, B. Y. Ramsay, John Gragg, L. A. Parker, J. D. Bower, Sr., F. S. Jones, L. A. Friedman, and W. L. James. J. J. Edge Funeral Home in charge.
