Cooper dies February 25 Mr. John G. Cooper, 75, died at the homer of his niece, Mrs. Rosa Key, near Vada, on Wednesday, February 25. Mr. Cooper had been in ill health for several months but his death was attributed to a heart attack. Mr. Cooper was a retired school teacher, having taught in Mitchell County until he had to discontinue on account of his health. He was a member of the Pelham Masonic Lodge No. 312 F. A. M. and a member of the Mt. Pleasant Church. He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Dean of Vada; one brother, Mr. Lee Cooper of Climax, Ga; three nieces, Mrs. Rosa Key of Vada; Mrs. Bura Hern of Pelham and Mrs. Pearl Brock of Tampa; two nephews; Earnest Dean, of Vada and Marvin Cooper of Tampa, Fla. Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 26, at 3 o'clock, at the Mt. Pleasant Church with the Rev. H.W. Sullivan officiating. The following gentlemen served as active pallbearers: J.L. Brock, D.D. Dean, S.P. Dean, Earnest Darley, Nat Atkinson and Delton Gleaton. Internment was made in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Player Funeral Home in charge.
