This file was contributed by: Brenda King McNair < bmcnair614@aol.com> ============== Nathan Bernard Cumbie March 4, 1914 -November 17, 1999 Funeral services for Nathan Bernard Cumbie, 85, of Bainbridge will be held at 2:00 p. m. today, November 19, at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverends Curtis Earnest, David Grubbs and Ed Harrell officiating. Interment will follow in West Bainbridge Cemetery with Billy King, Edwin King, Dan Scott, Nathan E. Cumbie, Jr., Bryan Pauley and Ted Martin serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Lonnie Merkerson, Morrell Robinson, Bill Cloud, Clinton Parris, Joseph Green, Johnson Parker, Donnie Yates, Hubert Dodson, Owen Elkins, Jackie Grubbs, Bobby Grubbs, Eugene Moore, Waymon Brock, Dockie Earnest, and Roscoe Alday. Mr. Cumbie died Wednesday, November 17, at Memorial Hospital. He was a truck driver and a member of Calvary Assembly of God Church in Reynoldsville, GA, where he served many years as a deacon. Survivors include his wife, Emma Loyless Cumbie of Bainbridge, GA; a son, Nathan E. Cumbie of Dothan, AL; two daughters, Mary C. Niles of Brainerd, MN, and Jimmie Ruth King of Bainbridge, GA; two sisters Margaret Adams of Newport News, VA; and Mildred Corbett of Hampton, VA; nine grandchildren, Wallace Niles of Anchorage, AK, Christine Niles Peterson of West Fargo, ND, Brenda King McNair of Hartselle, AL, Linda King Dillard of Tallahassee, FL, Billy King of Bainbridge, GA, Edwin King of Colquitt, GA, Carolyn King Chason of Bainbridge, GA, Nathan E. Cumbie, Jr., of London, KY, Sharon Cumbie Pauley of Dothan, AL; 12 great- grandchildren and a great-great-grandson. Ivey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements 246-3232. He was married 29 July 1934 Decatur Co., GA to Minnie Emma Loyless. He was married in a triple wedding with 2 of his sisters. He was the son of William Emmett Cumbie, Sr. and Mary Lucy Ann Earnest.
