Earnest Corbett Emory Earnest of Bainbridge passed away Saturday, August 10, 1974 at Archbold Hospital in Thomasville following a lengthy illness. Funeral services were held Monday, August 12, 1974 at 3:00 p. m. at the Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Larry Woodley and rev. Roy Dasher officiating. Interment followed in the Cool Springs Cemetery. Mr. Earnest was born in Kinicker County, Alabama on March 2, 1902 and lived in Decatur County his entire life. He was self employed as a painter and paper hanger until his retirement in 1971. He was a member of the Blackjack Baptist Church. Survivors include his widow, Ida Mae Jackson of Bainbridge; four sons: Winston T. Earnest, Monticello, Fla., Carlton E. Earnest, Bainbridge, James E. Earnest, Valdosta, Ga. and Charles H. Earnest, Monticello; 8 grandchildren; and three sisters; Mrs. Bonnie Hinton, Mrs. Jewel Overturff and Mrs. Burma Austin, all of Bainbridge. Cox Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
