EMANUEL DIES TUESDAY NIGHT Mr. H. M. Emanuel, one of the oldest citizens of the county and a well known Confederate Veteran died Tuesday night after a long spell of illness. Mr. Emanuel was very aged and feeble and his death though sad was not a surprise to his loved ones. He was a splendid old gentleman and a type of the old school. He served with distinction in the Confederate Army and was a familiar figure at the various reunions of his old comrades in arms. He was buried yesterday afternoon in the Sylvania Cemetery in the presence of a number of his old friends and acquaintances. His two sons, John H. and James H. Emanuel are well known in the city as they have been residents of Bainbridge for many years. Mr. Emanuel was a solid and most substantial kind of man and a man that every one loved. His long service as a citizen is respect by all of his friends. He was much loved by his old comrades and the last reunion or rather Memorial was in April and since that time, several of his old friends have preceded him.
