N. Sutton died very suddenly Sunday evening while enroute home from a visit to his sister, Mrs. John Garland. He got back to the home of Mr. Tom Harrison, about six miles from town, and after having passed there, Mr. Harrison noticed the buggy standing in the road for some time, and knowing it was Mr. Sutton's buggy, went to it and found him out on the ground with his face in his hands, and on speaking to him as he walked up and there was no reply, Mr. Harrison raised him up and found that he was speechless. In the meantime, preacher Merritt drove up, and assisted in carrying him to Mr. Harrison's residence. The news was hurried to his sister Mrs. Gene Thomas in Whigham, and other nearby relatives. He was buried with Masonic honors in the cemetery at Whigham Monday afternoon. Funeral services were conducted by his pastor, Rev. N. G. Christopher. Mr. Sutton held a responsible position with the G. D. McNair Co. for several months. He leaves two children to mourn his death, who did not get the news in time to get here to the interrment. They are with relatives in Tallahassee. He also leaves three sisters, Mrs. Gene Thomas of Whigham, Mrs. John Garland of Reagan and Mrs. Charlie Chason of Calvary. Mr. Sutton was connected with the most prominent families of Grady and Decatur, and the families have the heartfelt sympathy of their many friends.
