Williams died at the age of 82 years. Mr. Williams lived an active life, having been a surveyor for over 40 years. He respresented Decatur county in the legislature and was justice of the peace for a number of years. He came to this place when it was in a wilderness. He found the famous Whigham spring, where he killed bears and other wild animals. He leaves a devoted wife and seven children to mourn his death.
