Griffin Funeral services for Willie Edward Griffin, 29, of Bartow, Florida, formerly of Bainbridge, were conducted March 18 at the Bainbridge Church of God with Reverend Gene Reynolds and Reverend M. B. Norris officiating. Interment was in Mt. Olive Cemetery with Ivey Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Griffin was drowned on March 15 when waves swamped a small fishing boat from which he and a companion were fishing. The deceased was a member of the Church of God, a veteran of the Korean War and a truck driver by trade. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Joan Bennett Griffin, one son, James E. Griffin, one daughter, Debra Jo Griffin, his mother, Mrs. D. M. Griffin of Bartow; three brothers, Charlie Griffin of Bartow, Frank Griffin of Dade City and Albert E. Griffin of Bainbridge; and two sisters, Mrs. Lucille Phillios of Tampa, Florida and Mrs. Margaret Heckman of Shoemakersville, Penn. Active pallbearers were: Jimmy Martin, Billy Strickland, Loran Austin, Charles Albritton, James Love and Ralph Reynolds.
