Funeral services were held Saturday for Mrs. Byron Heard, 51, of Route 1, Brinson, who died Thursday from a heart attack. Daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Henry Kendrick, she was a life time resident of Decatur County and a member of the Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband, Byron Heard, and one daughter, Miss Shirley Nell Heard of Bainbridge. Other survivors include two brothers, Gordon Kendrick of Bainbridge and R. L. Kendrick of Pensacola; and two sisters, Mrs. Allie Heard and Mrs. Dola Austin, both of Bainbridge. The Rev. Henry L. Taylor assisted by the Rev. Dick Ostean, conducted funeral services which were held from the Bethany Baptist Church Saturday afternoon at three o'clock. Active pallbearers were Louie Heard, Julius Heard, Scott ilbrt, Larry Powell, Emory Kendrick, Adrian Kendrick, Carl Kendrick and Junior Donalson. Honarary pallbearers were Jason Bishop, Charlie Compton, W. L. Lamb, Tom Maynard, Tom Hunter, Lester Wilson, Ed Cloud, Jimmy Griffin, Brewster Johnson and Frank Burke. Ivey Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
