This file was contributed by: Brenda King McNair Bmcnair614@aol.com ==================================================================== John Hudspeth Dies Suddenly Of Heart Attack John Patrick Hudspeth, 54, well-known and highly-esteemed Early countian, died at his home on Route 1 last Wednesday afternoon at 6 o'clock. Mr. Hudspeth's death, which came as a shock to his family and friends, was the result of a heart attack which carried him out quickly. Born in Early county on April 20, 1903, Mr. Hudspeth was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Blackman Hudspeth. He was engaged in farming and was active in the religious, civic, and political life of the county. He was for a number of years a member of the Early County Board of Commissioners and the County Board of Education and at the time of his death was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Blakely-Union School. He was a member of the Blakely Baptist Church and of Magnolia Lodge No. 86 Free & Accepted Masons. Mr. Hudspeth's funeral was held Thursday afternoon at 4 o'clock at the residence with the Rev. W. E. Storey officiating. Interment was in the Blakely cemetery, with Bryan Funeral Home in charge and Wilton Howell, Collier P. Gay, Justin Cox, Tommy Jenkins, L. A. Pitts, S. G. Maddox, George Gee, and J. B. Jones serving as pall-bearers. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Hazel Shepard Hudspeth; two sons, Dr. Eddie B. Hudspeth of Macon and William Hudspeth of Blakely; three daughters, Mrs. Gene Scott of Alexander City, Ala., Miss Angie Hudspeth and Miss Patricia Hudspeth of Blakely; and uncle, Ollin B. Hudspeth of Blakely; and two aunts, Mrs. Lula Poindexter and Mrs. Winner Jenkins of Edison, Ga.
