This file was contributed by: Brenda King McNair Bmcnair614@aol.com ==================================================================== Miss Jessie McNair Dies Miss Jessie McNair, age 47, employee of the Southern Bell Telephone and Telegram Company for 21 years, began services when at the age of 19 years and holding a very responsible position, for a number of years as chief operator until 1926 when she was forced to give this up on account of ill health. She was out of service with this company seven years before her death. During these seven years she was a great sufferer. Her mother, Mrs. Mamie McNair preceded her to her grave six months ago and it was then that she was carried to a local hospital where she was given the very best of care by both her Doctors and nurses until her death, March 15, 1933. During the 21 years of services she was popular identified with the business world, and everyone who knew her loved her, most dues to her sweet, loving disposition. Funeral services were held March 16, at the home of her sister, Mrs. C. M. Welch on West Street, by her pastor, Rev. M. M. Marshall, pastor of the Methodist Church, assisted by Rev. J. E. Ward and Rev. H. H. Shell. Surviving are one brother and four sisters, brother, Morgan McNair of Bainbridge; sisters: Mrs. C. M. Welch of Bainbridge; Mrs. Lucy Morgan, of Jacksonville, Fla; Mrs. Julia DeLong and Mrs. Johnnie Christman, of West Palm Beach, Fla.
