The following Obituary appeared in the Post Searchlight, Bainbridge, GA

Aldon Joe Merkison
May 11, 1917 - June 24, 1993

Mr. Aldon Joe Merkison, 76, of Donalsonville died on June 24, 1993, at 
Arbors of Tallahassee in Tallahassee, Fla. after a lengthy illness.

Mr. Merkison was born on May 11, 1917 in Donalsonville where he lived his 
entire life.  He was a farmer and a member of Reynoldsville Church of God.

He is survived by his wife,  Ruby Merkison of Donalsonville;  two daughters, 
  Jewel White and Betty Dawson, both of Conyers;  two sons,  Julius Merkison 
of Griffin and Jack Merkison of Donalsonville;  one sister,  Evelyn Kirkland 
of Fayetteville;  one brother, Elmer Merkison of Bainbridge;  10 
grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Services were held on June 27 at Reynoldsville Church of God with the Rev. 
Garvis Herring and Rev. Hubert Moss officiating.  Burial followed in the 
Calvary Assembly of God Church Cemetery in Reynoldsville.  Pallbearers were 
Greg White, Doyle Dawson, Anthony Merkison, DeWayne Merkison, Mike Rustin 
and Jamie Warner.

Cox Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
