Mr. Earnest died at Citrus Memorial Hospital on May 5, 1995. A native of Bainbridge, he moved to Floral City, five years ago from Okeechobee, Fla. He was a retired Chief Petty Officer with the U. S. Navy with 20 years of service, having served in both World War II and the Korean Conflict. Following his discharge, he was employed with the South Florida Water Management Authority. Survivors include his wife, Doris Ivey Earnest; two daughters, Linda Ray of Tampa, Fla., and Diane Steed, Floral City; two brothers, C. L. Earnest of Brinson and Leon Earnest of Youngstown, Fla.; a sister, Catherine Christian of Georgetown, Ga.; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Charles E. Davis Funeral Home of Inverness, Fla., was in charge of arrangements.
