Bainbridge, Decatur Co., GA Death Of Mr. Joe King Last Tuesday. His Remains Were Entered In The Cloud Cemetery At Spring Creek The Death Angel visited the home of Mr. Hugh King on last Tuesday morning, April 5, at 5 o'clock and plucked one of their sweetest flowers, which brought much grief and sorrow to them and their many friends. Joe was born April 13th, 1900, and lived and died in the same community, never being absent for even one week. He was converted in early life and joined the Freewill Baptist church and there remained a loyal member until death. He possed the requisites that make a pure man; he was honest, truthful, generous kindhearted and forgiving to all who knew him. He was ever ready to forgive those who brought him injury and truly loved his kindred and friends and ever aided those who needed his assistance, even at the cost of self-denial. He was steadfast in his views whatever he believed to be right; he tried to do. He was the embodiment of honor and it has been said that in honest man is the noblest work of God. He was an earnest and obedient child to his parents and continued so all through life. And earnestly praying for God to take care of his father and his little brothers and sisters. While Joe's mother proceeded him just one month, he still remembered her and said she visited his bed in his last hours; and said that he loved his mother to good for him to ask God to spare his life. While he would plead with God and ask others to pray for him, he didn't ask God to spare his life. So we must feel contented that he was willing to go and meet his dear Saviours and live with his precious mother in that beautiful home above, where parting comes no more. While every medical will was done and all that loving hands could render. But God loved him best. While Joe made so many changes and everybody hoping the next one would be for the better, but it seemed as if God was letting him suffer it all for some great purpose. He bore all his misery with great fortitude and continued faithfully praying and begging God to bless his family. And we feel sure that he was ready to go. As he would call in his weak voice for Papa to come and he would tell him he had to leave and he wanted to pray. While we know it seems so hard to give him up and to think of his empty chair we know that home cannot be borne internal without him, but we must remember that God knows best, and he never puts burdens on us too great for us to bear. It is so hard for us to realize that he is gone, but we have the sweetest assurance that he is at rest, and waiting for us on that blissful shore, where parting is unknown. He leaves a father, several sisters and brothers, whom we deeply sympathize with in his great loss. His remains were interred in the Cloud Cemetery on Spring Creek. __ weep not father, brothers and sisters for Joe is at rest.
