Dean, Pioneer Resident, Passes Away Friday Mr. William Riley Dean, 74, one of Decatur County's pioneer citizens, passed away Friday, April 3rd. A lifelong resident of the Mount Pleasant community, Mr. Dean was a retired farmer. He was also a member of Prosperity Church. He is survived by hjis wife, Mrs. Anna Lodge Dean of Route 3, Bainbridge; seven daughters, Mrs K.E. Welling of Jacksonville, Mrs. Myrtle Crosson of Albany, Mrs. Ruby Berardi of Tallahassee, Mrs.Christine Pollock of Bainbridge, Mrs. Janie Lee Anderson {should read Anderton} of Dade City, Florida, Miss Fannie Bell Dean, and Miss Jeanette Dean, both of Bainbridge; and seven sons, Roy Dean, of Pelham, Gordon Dean of Climax, Alton Dean of Tallahassee, Riley Hoover Dean of Dade City, Leonard C. Dean of Bainbridge, Hermon Lloyd Dean of Tallahasssee and Roy Boutwell of Climax. Also surviving are 24 grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Mattie Brock of Jacksonville and Mrs. Bertha Dollar of Tampa, and five brothers, R.W. Dean of Bainbridge, I.C. Dean of Plant City Fl., Ben Dean of St. Petersburg, Lonnie Dean of Jacksonville and Donnie Dean of Climax. Funeral services were held from the Prosperity Church Saturday afternoon at three o'clock with the Rev. Earl Childs officiating. Interment was in Prosperity Cemetery. Active pallbearers were: J.W. Dean, J.W. Dollar, Tillman Dean, Eugene Crosson, Lavonne Strickland and W.L. Dean. Honorary pallbearers were: Andrew Avery, J.L. Brock, Carl Brock, Boen Brock, D.W. Wimberly, Joe Brock, Jim Newsome, Homer Brock, Levi Harrell, Carlton Davis, Ruel Brock, Tom Sellers, Harrison Wilder, Berry Wilder, David Thompson, Wilsey Coker, Tom Mills, and Henry Adams. E.W.
