Bainbridge Post Searchlight, May 24, 1951
Friends of Mrs. Emma Pope were saddened to learn of her death which occurred at 
her home on West Street Thursday afternoon, May 17, after a lengthy illness.

Surviving are three sons, Robert A. Pope and Barney E. Pope of Bainbridge, 
Jesse L. Pope of Climax; two brothers, R. A. Kirkland of Thomasville and Alex 
Kirkland of Ft. Myers, Fla.; five sisters, Mrs. Annie Daughtry of Climax, Mrs. 
Mellie Horton of Cairo, Mrs. Bessie Donalson of Albany, Mrs. Dollie Johnson of 
Columbus, and Mrs. Delia Poppell of Quincy; ten grandchildren and four great 
grandchildren.

The funeral service was held Friday afternoon, May 18, from Pine Level Church 
in Grady County, with the Reverend Charles Bishop officiating.

Active pallbearers were G. D. Phillips, W. C. Cooper, Jr., W. C. Cooper, G. W. 
Holt, E. L. Clemmons, and S. E. Glover.

Interment was made in Pine Level Cemetery with E. W. Cox and Sons in charge.
