He was a lifelong resident of Decatur County, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jim Faircloth. He was a prominent farmer and a member of the Dellwood Missionary Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Etta Pope Faircloth; two daughters, Mrs. Ora Williams of Albany and Mrs. Marie Harrell of Route 1, Camilla; five sons, Earnest, Charlie, Tom, Wilson, Joe Faircloth, Route 1, Camilla; four brothers, Ira Faircloth of Jacksonville, Rayford Faircloth of Route 1, Camilla, Raymond Faircloth of Carrabelle, Florida, Fla.; and four sisters, Mrs. Maggie Williams and Mrs. Hattie Sanders of Hartford, Fla., Mrs. Rosa Taylor of Bainbridg,e and Mrs. Arie Wilson of Cairo. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, June 4, at three o'clock at Mt. Pleasant Church with the Reverend Emmett Cloud officiating. Active pallbearers were Grover Faircloth, George Singleton, Wilmer Faircloth, W. C. Faircloth, Norwood Williams, and Melvin Faircloth. Honorary pallbearers were E. F. Vickers, C. O. Powell, Henry Stephens, E. B. Harrison, A. T. Snipes, L. Wynn, Vance Custer, Lloyd Pollock, W. P. Mulford, Jimmy Burnam, Brantley Harrell, Willie Harrell, Harvey Posey, Ben Whitley, Foy Barrett, Robert Martin, Charlie Smith, Johnny Avery, Andrew Avery, J. C. Smith, and John Collins.
