Bainbridge Post Search Light, December 8, 1949
Mr. Hollie H. Smith died at a local hospital in Bainbridge on Monday morning, 
December 5.

The funeral service was held Tuesday afternoon December 6, at 2:30 o'clock from 
the chapel of E. W. Cox and Sons Mortuary with the Rev. Olin C. Cooper, Rev. 
Lewis Wright and Rev. A. I. Zeller officiating.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Myrtle Ivey Smith of Bainbridge, Ga.; one 
daughter, Mrs. H. C. Newsome of Albany, Ga., one grandchild, Patsy Lou Dykes 
also of Albany, Ga.; one brother, Gordon Smith of Drifton, Fla.; three sisters, 
Mrs. George Bass of Quincy, Fla., Mrs. J. J. Harrell of Tallahassee, Fla., Mrs. 
T. D. Connell of Canal Point, Fla.

Active pallbearers were J. G. Strain, H. G. Farnell, J. Walter Gallman, T. M. 
Segler, V. H. James and W. M. Richards.

Honorary pallbearers were J. B. Gunn, H. F. Hart, Joe Dollar, R. T. Crozier, W. 
T. Roberts, O. L. McQuaig, Metz Holder, Harmon Bennett, Charlie Martin, A. J. 
Vaughn, John Roberts, W. A. Pittman, Harry King, E. F. Vickers, Dr. R. F. 
Wheat, Dr. W. L. Wilkinson, Dr. L. W. Willis, Dr. Gordon Chason, Dr. J. P. 
Tucker, Frank S. Jones, T. J. Hornsby, J. A. Parvis and A. E. White.

Interment was made in Bainbridge Cemetery with E. W. Cox and sons in charge.
