P. Harrell, Sr. A cloud of deepest sorrow cast its sorrow over the community on Tuesday morning, October 1, 1935, when they learned of the sudden death of Mrs. L. P. Harrell. She had been a member of the Prosperity Primitive Baptist Church for over fifty years and was always willing to serve her church in the best of ways. She had been in ill health for the past few months, but always suffered her pains with severe patience. God was forming a bouquet in Heaven and needed our dear mother and grandmother to make it complete. She was 74 years of age but because of her cheerful nature and sweet disposition she was loved by the younger people as well as the older ones. "A voice we love is stilled, 'Twas by God's almighty will; But Heaven retains our dearest treasure, Earth the lonely casket keeps, And the sunbeams love to linger, Where our dear one sleeps. We know she must be happy, With Jesus and the angels there While we stay here and weep, Just to see the vacant chair, we miss her and mourn her loss." The deceased is survived by two daughters, Mrs. J. T. Mills of Bainbridge, Mrs. Claddis Harrell of Whigham; three sons, Messrs. B. B., C. V., and L. P. Harrell, Jr., all of Bainbridge, and many grandchildren to mourn her death. Funeral services were held at Prosperity Church Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock, conducted by Rev. E. A. D. Sheffield of Climax, Ga. Pall bearers were grand children, Messrs. Conrad, Novard, John and Eugene Harrell, Allen and Tom Mills. Honorary escorts were Messrs. C. L. Smith, A. B. Roberts, C. G. Wells, Fred Hatcher, Edgar Mills, Joe E. Dollar, Jr., J. O. Sharber, Amos Bell, E. J. Harrell, Powell Musselwhite, and Grady Adams.
