Moore Today Beloved and Pioneer Citizen of This County Dies At His Home Wednesday Funeral services were held this afternoon at three-thirty o'clock for Mr. Edward Mumford Moore, who died at his home on Shotwell Street Wednesday afternoon about four thirty o'clock. The Rev. H. H. Shell conducted the services. Mr. Moore had been in ill health for several years, but his death yesterday afternoon came as a severe shock to his many friends. He was sixty-four years of age and despite his ill health for the past several years, continued to engage in the grocery business at his residence. Mr. Moore was born in Decatur County and had spent his entire life in Bainbridge. He was a pioneer in the grocery business and has always occupied a prominent place in Bainbridge and Decatur County. His cheerful disposition and charitable nature and many fine traits of character endeared him to all who knew him. He was devoted to his family and home and the sympathy of the entire community is extended to his loved ones in their bereavement. Mr. Moore was a member of the First Baptist Church. Affable at all times and always intensely interested in all matters pertaining to the welfare of his community, his presence will be missed by numerous friends not only in Bainbridge, but throughout the county. To his family and friends he leaves a rich heritage of an exemplary life, filled with service to his loved ones and friends. He is survived by his wife, four daughters, Mrs. Ashley Young, Mrs. Agnes Lane, Miss Anna Moore, all of this city and Miss Margaret Moore of Tallahassee, Fla., and one son, Edward M. Moore, Jr., of Macon. Three sisters, Miss Etta Moore of Quincy, Fla., Mrs. J. H. Renfroe of Tallahassee, Mrs. D. G. McClellan of this city, and five brothers, Judson, L. R., and T. R. Moore, all of this city, Harold Moore, of Ocala, Fla., and O. L. Moore, of Macon, also survive him. The following gentlemen served as active pallbearers: Messrs. M. F. Flowers, L. A. Parker, L. H. Tonge, Phil Moore, Ira Bates, G. W. Bates, M. E. O'Neal, and D. R. Bryan. Interment was made in Oak City Cemetery. E. W. Cox Funeral Home in charge.
