Mrs. Corene K. Bennett



Mrs. Corene King Bennett, 78, died Tuesday, February 14, 1989, at Memorial 

Manor Nursing Home.



Services were held Thursday, February 16 at 4 p. m. at Bethany Baptist Church, 

where she was a member, with the Reverends Luther Hastey, Frank Short and Tommy 

Long officiating.  Interment was held at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery.  

Pallbearers were Russell Boyd, Keith Harrison, Dale Edwards, Bobby Barber, Paul 

Bennett and Phillip Kelly.



Mrs. Bennett, a lifelong resident of Decatur County, was born November 11, 

1910.  She was a homemaker.  Mrs. Bennett was preceded in death by her husband, 

C. J. "Jeff" Bennett.



Survivors are one son, Charles R. Bennett of Bainbridge; one daughter, Carolyn 

B. Hilton of Bainbridge and three grandsons, Doyle K. Hilton and Paul Bennett, 

both of Bainbridge and John C. Bennett of Lynchburg, Virginia.



Ivey Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Corene Barbara King Bennett was a daughter of William Henry King and 

Martha "Gussie" Cloud King.  She was married 23 December 1929 Decatur Co., GA 

Book J, Page 348 to Charles Jefferson Bennett.
