Gardner Mr. Remus T. Gardner, 81, of Bainbridge died at Memorial Hospital on January 11, 1990, after a short illness. Services were held January 14 at 2 p. m. at Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Clayton Blackshear and the Rev. R. M. Dyches officiating. Burial followed at Bethel Cemetery. Pallbearers were Allen Gardner, Charles Gardner, Buryl Gardner, Sammy Gardner, Robert G. Gardner and Bobby Gardner. Mr. Gardner was born in Decatur County on November 16, 1908, and lived most of his life here. He retired from the Gadsden County Sheriff's Department in Quincy, Fla., as a retired Deputy Sheriff after 20 years of service. Also a retired farmer. Mr. Gardner was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Cloud Gardner. Survivors are two sons, Wayne Gardner of Donalsonville and Edward Gardner of Byrom; tow daughters, Arma Jean Parkman and Frances Barfield of Macon; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four brothers, Sam Gardner of Bainbridge, Glenn Gardner of Apopka, Fla., Lloyd Gardner and Brian Gardner, both of Panama City, Fla., and one sister Janie Crew of Columbus.
