Funeral services were held June 11, 1985, at 2 p. m. at Cox Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Howard Tillery officiating. Interment followed at Cool Springs Cemetery. Mrs. Mitchell was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was married to the late Claude Mitchell. She was born in Decatur County May 5, 1904, and lived here most of her life. Survivors include: two daughters, Mrs. Danny (Gloria) Shepard, Bainbridge, and Mrs. Bill (Edna) nix, Tavares, Fla.; one son Joe C. Mitchell, Homestead, Fla., one brother, Dewitt King, Bainbridge; three sisters, Mrs. Norene Harrison, Whigham, Mrs. Louise Conyers of Albany, and Mrs. Jeannette Limely, Pensacola, Fla., 10 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Glenn Shepard, Terry Isler, Bradley Isler, Mike Mitchell, Britt Buckner, and Owen Elkins, Jr. Cox Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. She married 10 June 1923 Decatur Co., GA Book H, Page 648 Claude Mitchell, born 19 March 1902 and died 03 November 1962, son of Henry Mitchell and Bessie Phillips.
