Mrs. Nora Braswell



Mrs. Nora Braswell of Rt. 1, Brinson, Ga., died Tuesday, January 15, 1991, in 

Memorial Hospital in Bainbridge after a short illness.  She was 73.



She was born in Seminole County, Ga., on January 7, 1918.  She was a member of 

the Calvary Assembly of God Church, and lived most of her life in Decatur 

County.  She was a housewife and had worked for a number of years with 

Thompson's Wire Division.



She was also a Sunday school teacher at Calvary Assembly of God Church for many 

years.



She is survived by her husband, Eddie James Braswell of Brinson; four sons, 

Bill Braswell, the Rev. Milton Braswell and Gary Braswell, all of Brinson, and 

Tommy Braswell of DeLand, Fla.; two sisters, Dora Goodwin, Brinson, Annie 

Kirkland, Brinson, and a brother, L. D. Merkison, Cairo; 11 grandchildren and 

eight great-grandchildren.



Services were January 17, 1991 at 3 p. m. at the Calvary Assembly of God 

Church.  Burial followed in the church cemetery.  The Rev. Curtis Earnest and 

the Rev. J. A. Tate officiated.



Pallbearers were Larry Harrell, Jimmy Merkison, Terry Tate, Danny Harrell, 

Charlie Godwin and Bobby Barber.



Cox Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Nora A. Merkison was a daughter of Bobby Doster "Dock" Merkison and Rosa Edith 

Cloud.  She was married 32 August 1935 in Seminole Co., GA file # 1 - 342 to 

Eddie James Braswell born 20 September 1916 and died 24 October 1991, son of 

Joseph R. Braswell and Ada McDaniel.
