Mr. Eddie Braswell

September 20, 1916 - October 24, 1991



Mr. Eddie Braswell of Brinson died on Thursday, October 24, 1991, at Memorial 

Hospital.  He was 75.



Services will be held today at 2 p. m. at Calvary Assembly of God Church with 

the Rev. Curtis Earnest and the Rev. Shelvie Summerlin officiating.  Burial 

followed in the Calvary Assembly of God Church.  Pallbearers are Larry Harrell, 

Danny Harrell, Bobby Barber, Jr., Mitchell Comerford, Jason Braswell, and Jimmy 

Merkison.  Honorary pallbearers are all male members of Calvary Assembly of God 

Church.



Mr. Braswell was born in Decatur County on September 20, 1916, and had lived 

his entire life here.  He was a farmer and a member of the Decatur County Farm 

Bureau.  He was a member of Calvary Assembly of God Church where he was a 

deacon.  Mr. Braswell was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Nora Merkison 

Braswell.



He is survived by four sons, Bill Braswell, Rev. Milton Braswell and Gary 

Braswell, all of Brinson, and Tommy Braswell of DeLand, Fla.; three sisters, 

Ruby Merkison of Donalsonville, Edna Barber and Thelma Begley, both of 

Bainbridge; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.  



Cox Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Eddie James Braswell was a son of Joseph R. Braswell and Ada McDaniel.  He was 

married 31 August 1935 in Seminole Co., GA File # 1 -342 to Nora A. Merkison, 

born 07 January 1918 and died 15 January 1991, daughter of Bobby Doster, "Dock" 

Merkison and Rosa Edith Cloud.
