Yawn Funeral services for Mr. Russell Benjamin Yawn, 87, year old Bainbridge resident, were conducted Tuesday, December 28 at 2:00 o'clock p. m. in Mount Olive Church with Rev. Earl Blanton officiating. The deceased passed away December 27 in Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his wife the late Mrs. Mary Edna Cloud Yawn. He was a farmer and member of Black Jack Baptist Church. Surviving are three sons, Chester and Eddie Yawn of Bainbridge and J. M. Yawn of Jacksonville, Fla.; two daughters Mrs. Mittie Owens, Valdosta, and Mrs. Ruby Poitevint, Lake City, Fla.; a sister, Mrs. Becky Miller, Brinson; seventeen grandchildren; thirty six great grandchildren and 25 great great grandchildren. Those serving as active pallbearers were Jimmy Merkison, John Waiber, Tom Dodson, Watson Sasser, Owen Edmunds and Buford Edmunds.
