(off Hairston Rd.). Hemingway crosses Martin’s Crossing twice -- it’s the first intersection if you are headed east. The original Franklin Garrett records says it is in Land Lot 3 or 4 , 16th District but it appears to be in Land Lot 1 instead. The cemetery is in bad shape. Of the original six graves Garrett recorded, only 2 remain. James T. Smith’s grave is a box tomb with a huge tree growing right thru the middle of it. There are also two infant size box tombs with the tops missing altho Garrett doesn’t mention these in his transcript -- he listed the six inscribed and mentioned "numerous other no inscribed markers". I counted about six sinkholes that appeared to be graves. There may have been other markers there under years accumulation of leaves that could not be seen.
