September 19, 1864. Most of the members of this company were enlisted by Captain John Y. Flowers in the DeKalb Murphy Guards and were mustered into the service of the Confederate States September 26, 1861, at Camp Kirkpatrick, DeKalb County. Other men were recruited by Captain Bomar and were mustered into the Murphy Guards by Captain John Y. Flowers at the different camps of Wright's Legion.
